The Great British Treasure Hunt

Client: Bison Bison x The Royal Mint
Producers: Matt Dent, Christian Davies
Script, Motion, Editing, Audio, Versioning: Stuart Greenwood
The Challenge
Working with Bison Bison, I helped bring The Royal Mint's 'Great British Treasure Hunt' to life on screen. The campaign centred on a limited edition £5 coin paired with an intricate puzzle system, giving consumers the chance to win a gold bar worth approximately £35,000.

The creative challenge was a delicate one: the teaser film needed to showcase the coin, hint at the prize, and draw audiences into the world of the puzzles, all without compromising the solutions. Delivering that balance of intrigue and restraint, from initial brief to finished film, took just five weeks.
The Solution
This project demanded a full studio pipeline delivered by a single freelancer, at pace. From the outset, I worked closely with Bison Bison to establish a clear creative route, lock the audio track, and define all final deliverables early, designing the production process around swift delivery rather than adapting it after the fact.

With outputs spanning social, DOOH and traditional 16:9, avoiding costly re-renders meant every decision had to be intentional from day one. Getting script, storyboard and animatic signed off early freed up more time for styleframes, animation and sound design, where the real craft lives.

A modular approach to the renders gave the edit total flexibility, allowing the piece to breathe and move with the music. The result was delivered on time and within budget, a full studio response, without the studio.

The Results
As part of an integrated PR campaign, the film achieved a global reach of 907 million in its first 24 hours.

The gold proof coins sold out within the same window, generating over £0.5m in revenue. A resounding success for The Royal Mint, and a result that speaks for itself.
